Kate Bathon Shufeldt is a seasoned nonprofit and social services professional with over fifteen years of experience leading, evaluating, and strengthening organizations across the nonprofit, government, and private sectors. As the CEO and Principal Consultant of Thrive Nonprofit Solutions, LLC, she has successfully guided numerous organizations through program development, strategic planning, evaluation, and funding acquisition. Her leadership has resulted in more than $11 million in awarded grants, including federal, state, and foundation funding.

Kate’s academic training includes a Master of Social Work and a Master of Public Affairs, equipping her with a strong foundation in both human services and policy administration. She has a particular specialization in designing and implementing tailored program evaluations and community needs assessments. Her expertise spans both quantitative and qualitative methodologies, and she has supported dozens of clients in building logic models, identifying valid measurement tools, and reporting outcomes to stakeholders with clarity and confidence.
Her consulting portfolio includes extensive evaluation work for initiatives such as the 21st Century Community Learning Centers, REACH Grants, the Lilly Endowment’s Comprehensive School Counseling Initiative, and the Enhancing Opportunities Initiative. She has led strategic planning engagements for statewide and community organizations, including the Indiana Latino Expo, Commission on Improving the Status of Children in Indiana, and Mental Health America of Hendricks County.
